Request to Contact the Family of Sergeant Claude A. Forsman (H/19164)
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing on behalf of a group of senior high school students in
Bayeux, France, as part of a memorial and historical project dedicated
to Canadian soldiers who took part in the liberation of Normandy
during World War II.
During the next school year, our class will be studying the life of
Sergeant Claude Alphonse Forsman, who served in the Canadian Army (The
Queens Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada) and is buried in the Bayeux
War Cemetery. We will carefully review his service documents and will
be working on a bilingual digital memorial to honor his sacrifice.
We would be very grateful if you could help us get in touch with any
living relatives or descendants of Sergeant Forsman, particularly his
widow Florence or any members of the Forsman family in Manitoba,
Canada. We understand and respect all rules regarding privacy and data
protection, and we are simply hoping to share the students’ tribute,
perhaps include a message from the family or meet them online, if they
are willing.
Should direct contact not be possible, we would be thankful if you
could forward our message and project to the family, or advise us on
the best course of action.
Thank you very much for your time and support in helping us preserve
this memory and connect generations across the Atlantic.
