Media Advisory: Winnipeg Commemoration for the 80th Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid

Media are invited to a Commemoration for the 80 Anniversary of the Dieppe Raid at Vimy Ridge Park on August 18, 2022.
The service will be hosted by the Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada, a Winnipeg unit that first saw action in the Second World War when they hit the beaches of occupied Europe during the raid at Dieppe on August of 1942. On that day, the regiment lost 76 brave soldiers.
When: August 18, 2022 at 8:30 p.m. Media and spectators are asked to arrive no later than 8:20 p.m.
Where: Vimy Ridge Memorial Park, 821 Preston Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3G 1T1.
What: The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders of Canada and the Cameron Association in Canada will be holding a brief service commemorating the Dieppe Raid.
The Queen’s Own Cameron Highlanders Commanding Officer, Lieutenant-Colonel Jon Baker will be available for Media interviews after the service.

I have visit Dieppe.
I could not figured out why anyone would attack that place considering it is protected by well trained troops.
I can see why it was a slaughter.
I was there last night, a very nice ceremony, very well done. My Dad was captured at Dieppe Fred T Lodge
