Cameron Church Parade

It’s that time of the year again when we let 1st Presbyterian Church [1] try to save our souls.

For any newcomers to the regiment, church parades have been a Cameron regimental tradition since we stood up as a regiment on 01 Feb, 1910.
Kirk is an old Scottish word [2] for Church.

1st Presbyterian Church is located at: 61 Picardy Place, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
(Near the corner of Portage Avenue and Canora Street on the eastern side of Vimy Ridge Park)
Timings
February 2nd, 2025
0940 hrs – If you plan to come with us on the bus from Minto the the Kirk you must be at Minto No Later Than (NLT) 0940 hrs. If you’re late you may be walking.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THERE IS LIMITED SEATING ON THE BUS.
1015 hrs – The bus is due to arrive at the Kirk at 1015 hrs. If you plan to get to the Kirk on your own, that’s when we’ll be there. Meet us in the basement of the Kirk to be seated with the Regiment.
1025 hrs for the 1030 hrs – In any event we are all to be seated NLT 1025 hrs for the 1030 hrs Service.
Noon / 1200 hrs will be the move back to Minto by the Unit and the bus.
1215 hrs – Lunch will be at 1215 hrs at Minto.
Dress
In descending order: Regimental Blazer & tie with medals, business casual, or your most suitable clothing available.
This is what the Unit and the Advisory Board need to know from you:
- Are you planning to attend the reception afterwards at Minto Armoury (to ensure we will have adequate refreshments for you)?
- Do you wish to travel to the church on the bus departing from Minto (your alternative is to simply meet us as First Presbyterian Church on Sunday morning).
Please let Hugh know ASAP, but no later than 31 Jan 2025 if you plan to come to the Kirk on the bus.
Also, please let Hugh know ASAP but no later than 31 Jan 2025 if you plan to come back to Minto to join us for refreshments.
